Zeel defends her Nationals crown…

Zeel Desai’s impressive run in MCC Nationals at Chennai continued for yet another season as the youngster from Ahmedabad defended her under-18 crown on Saturday.

In the final, Zeel brushed aside India number six Sama Sathwika of Andhra Pradesh 6-0, 6-3 win the title.

The India number four, in the under-18 category, was at her best as she beat India number 31 Harsha Sai Challa of Andhra Pradesh 6-1, 6-2 in the prequarters. In the quarters, her opponent and India number 14 Abinikka Renganathan conceded the match with Zeel leading 5-0 in the first set.

In the semis, Zeel made a short work of India number seven Vanshika Sawhney of Delhi 6-3, 6-2.

Mr Rajesh started coaching from Sports Club of Gujarat in 2000. Worked with and for all clubs of Ahmedabad & conducted coaching camps for State Team for Nationals / Zonal Tournaments. He has conducted coaching camps for upcoming Elite players of all age groups who have performed in State and national level tournaments

He is seen most of the time at the courts, personally teaching the talents at Ahmedabad Racquet Academy and he makes sure to build upon the strengths of every kid personally and guide them towards professional playing.

He is also a trained fitness trainer and he uses the knowledge to make the kids better to compete at the national and international levels.
